My Story

I am a mother, daughter, sister and friend. I love reading, writing, spending time with friends, playing the piano, and watching TV. My most fulfilling role has been that of mother to my daughter, Cristina.

I had the honor of walking my husband, Bill, Home on February 14, 2011. I was born, raised and continue to live in the Northern Virginia region. I am active in my local church.

I work in the HR industry. My Bible life chapter is Psalm 34. I lean on the promises God gives us in scripture and know He has great plans for me. I am excited to see the daily plan for my life in Him unfold.

While Bill was ill, I blogged on a Caring Bridge website. Many of the friends that followed that blog told me repeatedly that I should continue. God has shared with me that He wishes to use my writing skills to His Glory.

I started writing for aNew Season ministries in 2013 and in 2017 felt led to step away from that ministry and blog on my own.

So, with this website, I will fulfill the Lord’s will for my life.

May His message shine through me. May I decrease so He may increase. May God Bless you abundantly!

Our Story

Cristina and Sherry

Cristina

My Daughter

Cristina is a graduate of Radford University.  She is working with a wonderful company in our Nation's Capital.

Cristina is a gifted peacemaker.  She can walk into chaos and bring peace and calm to it.  She has a wonderful sense of humor and is smart too!  I often look at her and watch how she moves through this world and I stand in awe that I am blessed with her not only being in my life, but that I am the one she calls mom.

Cristina is a wonderful and loving caregiver to her cat, Bailey.

So excited to see the places she will go!

Sophie

Sophie

Our Dog

Sophie was adopted by our family after Bill did a plumbing job for a sweet man who didn't have enough money to pay for the job.  Bill told him not to worry about it and the man insisted we take a puppy from his dog's litter as payment.  We met Sophie and our hearts melted on the spot.  She is half pit and half lab.  She will be 13 years old this year.

Brandon

Brandon

Our Cat

Brandon was adopted from a shelter in 2001 as a kitten.  Cristina wanted a "brother" and Brandon fit the bill.  Cristina was 3 when we adopted him and she named him.  Brandon passed away in October 2017.  We miss him, however, our memories of him make us smile.
